I bought this pair of Gap Keds for $10 at Plato’s Closet in Austin before we moved to Florida. I bought them with the intention of spiffing ‘em up, but what do you know… 4 months later and they are still sitting pretty looking just like the day I bought them.
I was inspired by these nails on Pinteres:
I started with a few doodles to practice using my painters. Then I started drawing my lines… The painters are a lot like nails polish. To get the most vivid color, let the lines dry and then go over in the same color. Obviously, the more you go over them, the darker they get.
I stared outlining with the fine tip black.
I decided I did not want both shoes identical. I would let one shoe dry, while I started doodling on the other. See the left shoe, I tried circles. I didn’t love them and decided to make it a straight line.
And I’m happy I did.
Here’s a close up…
Have any shoes that need an update? What do you think of mine… Better after? Do you ever loose crafting momentum for a period of time? I’m pretty excited to whip out my Elmer’s Painters again. I’m feeling a lot more paint maker projects in my future
*Please note Elmer’s donated the Painters for me to review. All opinions are 100% mine. See my full disclosure for more deets.
