Hi there! It’s Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous and I’m excited to be here to share a little about the city I live in: Richmond, VA.

10 FREE {and super fun!} things to do in Richmond, Virginia

Richmond, Virginia is a city full of history and fun! I’ve lived here for 5 years now and absolutely love it! If you’re visiting in the summer, be prepared for some hot, humid weather and bring a water bottle.
  1. Maymont: huge estate with gardens, farm animals, and a few exotic animals. Free entrance, but you have to pay to tour the homes or feed the animals. Walking around is free and parking is free. FREE.

3. Holocaust Museum: this museum is a headphone tour of one man telling his story of surviving the Holocaust as you walk through different sets depicting his journey. He visits the museum frequently and I have met him. Very well put together and makes the Holocaust real. I’ve been several times with different family members and each time I learn something new. FREE ENTRANCE.

4. Hollywood Cemetery: I’m not a huge fan of cemeteries, but this one is really cool. There are 2 presidents buried there, confederate soldiers, and all kinds of really neat headstones all set with a gorgeous view of the James River. FRE ENTRANCE.

5. Brown Island: view Richmond and the James River by walking or biking around this park. FREE
