Yogurt+Veggies= Healthy Snack!

Yogurt + Veggies…. Sound like a weird combo? Then you haven’t tried Otira Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip yet? There are 5 flavors, I can only vouch for the deliciousness of the Garden Herb Ranch flavor.

I recently had a few girls over for an ABC’s (A Book & Cookie Swap) Party. It’s my little made up party theme with the intention to purge my book obsession for before the big move to Florida next year. I also got to craft up a sign that read, “I like big books and I can not lie!” The get together was a hit, but the book getting rid of thing did not exactly work out. But, more on that in later post…

In the midst of the sugar high I whipped out the Greek yogurt veggie dip with some cucumbers and carrots… I was super fancy and let the dip live in it’s original container. I did cover a cutting board with brown packing paper that showed up in a package at my door step the afternoon of the par-tay… That’s the C.R.A.F.T.-y part of this post :)

Back to the point of the post, I asked all the girls for their opinion on the yogurt veggie dip compared to other veggie dips… The best review was from Michelle (my neighbor who doesn’t eat lettuce or pepperonis), “The only dip I really enjoy is green onion. Surprisingly, I like the thick, creamy texture of this yogurt dip…it is tart, not sweet at all… and super tasty. I would buy this stuff for myself!” There you have it ladies, If Michelle likes it, so will you! I must concur, it’s good stuff and was gone by the end of the night!
What I like about the Greek yogurt Dip:
  • Healthier than regular ranch dip. About 60 calories per 2 TBSP compared to the mayo and sour cream version of ranch dip with 120 calories per 2 TBSP
  • Otria bran veggie dip is gluten free. I’m not allergic to gluten, but I know lots who are. So that’s definitely a plus!
  • There are 5 flavors… something for every taste bud. They are: Garden Herb Ranch, Cucumber Dill Feta, Spinach Artichoke, salsa Cilantro, and Chipotle Cheese
Before you go on a wild goose chase for this healthy little snack let me pre warn you that in Austin, TX you can only find this tasty Greek yogurt dip at Randall’s Food Market. Check out THIS link to see where you can buy it in your neck of the woods.
This is a great snack for kids after school. Or better yet, after gorging ourselves on Thanksgiving greatness you could whip out the healthy dip for the Turkey Day football madness… I am a Longhorn and the BF is an Aggie :) The first UT vs. A&M; game was played in 1894. (Learn a few more good TX football facts to impress your friends and family HERE and see who people think might be UT’s replacement Turkey day rival)
I was one of the bloggers selected by T. Marzetti Company and Clever Girls Collective to host a Marzetti Otria Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip review. They provided me with product to test and compensation for my time. However, my opinions are entirely my own.
