kid c.r.a.f.t. #16: Ice Painting

Have you ever painted with ice?

 

My friend, Annie, is a preschool teacher, and has some great summer crafts she is going to share with us on C.R.A.F.T. First up, ice painting.

Materials:

 First, fill an ice cube tray with 90% liquid water color and 10% water. Stick a strand of tape directly on top of the ice cube tray…as shown below :) This is so the toothpicks (handles) will stay in place while freezing.

Remove the tape, and let the kids paint…

I is for Ice painting!
Free ice painting download… just double click, save to your desktop, and print as many times as you would like…

    This sounds like quite a cool idea!
    I think I´m trying this, but with foodcoloring, since my kids are used to licking icecubes, and I don´t think they could resist here :)

    I love this idea for an outdoor activity to do in our hot Texas weather….. will food coloring work just as well or should I go out and find the liquid watercolor? If so, where do I find it? Thank you!!!!
