My mom and I made this for Valentines Day, but I think it could be fun for a birthday, anniversary, or even just because!
You need:
- cake recipe (box cake is A-OK)
- square pan
- circle pan
- wax paper
Give the batter a little taste test…
Make sure and put wax paper under the pans so the cakes come on out easily…
Cut your circle in half and attach the square 
It’s so easy!
I made a very fancy stencil out of plain ‘ol printer paper…
So stinking cute, and sure to brighten up anyone’s day!
My mom made cream cheese icing, which I love! Have you ever made a heart shaped cake? I’d love to hear…

Thanks so much for posting this! I just got an order for a heart cake and don't have a heart pan. Being that Valentine's Day just passed I think one will be hard to find. This post couldn't have come at a better time for me!
Im guessing you cut the top of the cake to be flat right?
