I am going to my very first blog conference next weekend
So, I have been told I need business cards to hand out to new friends…here are my issues:
#1: I don’t have a business
#2: My blog is creating really awesome free things…I can’t buy business cards!
#3: #2 doesn’t matter since I’m poor anyway
So, I decided to make my own business cards! Here is my first prototype out of cereal boxes and things around the house…please tell me what you really like, don’t like, or ways to make them better…
These are deinfitly custom business cards
Also, is 50 enough?

oh my word…I really love them! So simple and CUTE! And it's your theme…you created some really awesome free things!!
Jaimie I really like these!! I think they are so cute! The stitching is so sweet on the bottom. I think they'll stand out and people will remember you. Super creative.
Okay, seriously, I LOVE these cards.
Cute and creative and CRAFTY!!!!
Have fun… sounds like a blast.
I love the way these look! But should your web address be included?
Gosh, I love them, very creative!
Have a great time!
XoXo
I love everything about them! EVERYTHING!
great job – - it'd be fun to add glitter, but that's probably too much embellishing and would shed all over people….
So cute and clever!
I made some business cards to hand out to people. I can send you the word document if you're interested. I just printed it out on heavy bond paper. I'm sure 50 is enough. I'm curious, what did you do with the back of the card?
Those are pretty wicked awesome, Jamie! I think they're great!
that is a pretty awesome idea. I think they will work great but i would probably go with more than 50 just to be on the safe side. i know i would bring like 250..
Oh, I love them! They are so chic and will be so memorable and noticeable to other conference goers!!! Great job! Do you have your blog addy on them? Do you need it to be? I've never been to a conf, so I have no idea, but I really like what you've designed! Have F.U.N. !!!
I think they are AWESOME!! It's so "you"…not that I know "you" per say, but I am a frequent blog stalker
It seems to fit you and your blog theme very well. They look professional and simple. They will def be a card people will remember!
I have never been to a conference before, so Im not sure on amount. But 50 sounds about right!
I think they're great! I like "non-standard" things that are in keeping with the feel of a company (or personality in this case)!
I think they're darling – and I would make more than 50!!
Of course you can take those!! Especially since it goes with the name of your blog! I totally love them! Congrats on going to the first big blog convention!
These are so adorable and memorable, I just adore them!
If you ever want to get some in the masses, check out vistaprint.com, they do 250 free business cards (premium ones free too, if you sign up for their email and wait for the promo!). Just pay shipping!
But I love these and think they are such a great idea!
I think they are great and reflect your blog. I might add the blog address though. Oh, I like the different colored stitched lines at the bottom!
I really like them! Plus they are obviously not your typical business cards so yours will definitely stand out, in a good way!
Those are super cute. {I do think your blog address should be on there-on the back, maybe?}
These are SO cute. Much better than typical card stock business cards. :]
those are so darn clever. im in love with them, and your brain for coming up with them.
are you kidding?! These are amazing! You're brilliant! Have so much fun!
Those are totally awesome.
And I would tell you if they weren't, cause that's just the kind of gal I am.
The cards are so cute!!
Do you think you should put your full web address on them? I don't know. I think they look great though!
I think there are like 150 registered to go to the conference. Maybe you can just only give out cards to your favorite people.
I can't wait to meet you IRL!

I love them. The lines at the bottom are just enough. (and they are free, too! Great idea.)
Such a cute, creative and inexpensive alternative to regular cards!
I linked up to you in a post today! Hope you'll play along.

Yes, yes, yes. Very unique. Memorable. True to what you do. I think people will respect you for that. Nice job.
Love them. slick and homecrafty at the same time. and free and ecofriendly. winner all around. no clue on number, but I'd do a few more cause they're so cool and you'll always be able to use them.
Vista print pretty much gives away their business cards for almost shipping. But I think the ones you have are great.
I love that idea. Yeah I have the same problem too when people suggest business cards. But making them is a fabulous idea. And why not right? Your whole business is making stuff so why should you business card be something generic??
.
I love these, simple effective and memorable. Maybe add what your blog does on the back of the card. 50 will not be enough as everyone is going to want one (they are going to be the hottest thing at the conference. Have fun can't wait to hear how it goes when you get back.
i love them!!! the stitching looks fabulous! i agree with the comments above… 50 will not be enough! everyone is going to want one!
So cute!
I love these cards!!! I was wishing I had some "mom" cards but not wanting to spend the money and you've given me yet another ide!!!
I love them! Simple, clean, and totally in standing with your blog philosophy! Can I still the idea? (but not exactly, of course)
Love them! Wish I was going to Bloggy Bootcamp with you! Can't wait to hear all about it!
These are awesome! A perfect fit for you I think!
Now these are definitely memorable! Love them!
I would like to invite you to the Fantastic Frugal Fridays . It is the place to link up your frugal posts of all kinds.
How creative! Is your website or e-mail on the back? That might be the only thing I would consider changing! If I was handed one, it would be my favorite! Visiting from shabby nest. Happy Friday!
I have to say that I love love LOVE your new business cards!
I really feel like I need some too, and now you are inspiring me to make my own instead of buying them. It never occurred to me that I could do that! People are always asking me about my blog and I am forever wishing for some cool cards.
Have fun at your conference!
Fantastic idea! Please share how you made them
inquiring minds want to know. You might create a neat, matching business card holder to keep them in while passing out.
Just an idea, you could create a cool business card keeper for all the business cards you will get in return. This way they will be organized & everyone will get to see your handy work. If I don't have mine, I tend to stick business cards I get in my purse & they get lost or crushed.
this is so cute and eco-friendly, me like… i clicked over here from a linky party and i'm totally adding you to my blogroll
My blog conference is first weekend of nov! You are a rock star with the business cards. we must have a follow up post. I need to know what happened.
I'm tweeting this. and sharing on fb. love love love the idea.
Fantastic idea. I'm so copying this. Thank you so much for posting.
I love this idea and am so copying! Thank you for sharing this! (And it's great to find another crafter out there committed to free projects!)
Thank you all for your sweet comments! so far, i have 48 made! As always, you are more than welcome to use my ideas for yourself…just give credit where credit is due
They are amazing. I have a business and cards and they suck compared to what you have created. I adore them and to have then on something you upcycled just speaks volumes. Tell us how they fair when you hand them out. I am sure many will adore them.

I just bumped into your blog and LOVE it…the cards? wonderful! as long as they're not so time consuming to make, I feel they epitomize what you and your blog are all about, which is perfect. I've never been to a blog conference, but I've talked w/people who've gone and have been to business conferences myself, and I know that I pass out my blog's cards all the time…with that, we all know that blogging is about networking…think of it this way, do you only want to give 50 people your card? about 1/2 of them might actually stop by (you get TONS of cards at those conferences and alot of them end up in the trash), so that means only 25 new people will stop by, and about 1/2 of those will become followers (12 or so) and only about half of those will suggest or share your blog with others. so if you think about it in those terms, 50 is definitely not enough. I've talked w/people who have taken over 500 cards and ran out the first day…it all depends on how much networking you want to do for your blog. hope this helps.
Love the cards — They are perfect, especially if you leave the original packaging exposed on the back!!!! Brilliant!
simply genius!
So clever. So great. I think 50 is definitely enough. Well done.
Those are fantastic! Well done, but I think you'll need more!
I made buisness cards for my first blog conference by sewing paper with my info onto cards cut from wallpaper samples. My homemade cards were a great conversation starter!
Yours are awesome.
I think the best part is that you used cereal boxes and what you could find. Don't change that for something that looks too fabricated. It is that interesting touch that REALLY makes them stand out!!!
What a great idea!!!
I would never have thought of it – maybe I get stuck thinking I can't make things like this? – and I LOVE the stitching!!!
love them! thanks for sharing at my saturday soiree! i featured them today on my blog!
I think this is a great idea! Business cards can be exspensive so I love that you used things you had around the house.

Love these and so fitting for a craft blog! I'm sharing on my fb page. The stitching detail is adorable =) So creative! Hope you are having a wonderful week! ~Stephanie Lynn
That is a pretty awesome idea. I think they will work great but i would probably go with more than 50 just to be on the safe side. i know i would bring like 250……
