Who doesn’t love a little cake pop action?
First, cut pound cake into 2 layers. Use small cookie cutter to cut discs… Stick a lolly pop stick in each cube, and place all of your cubes on a tray. Place tray in the freezer for 1- 2 hours.
Then melt the chocolate…
dip your pound cake bites…
cover your entire bite with chocolate…
dip bites into toppings…
Don’t they look so cute and yummy?
HERE is the post about party bars

I'm sure this is easier than making them from scratch, however that nasty (but albeit, tasty) "chocolate" candy coating and Sara Lee cakes are full of unhealthy, processed ingredients…the worst of which is partially hydrogenated oils. (yuck.) I'd stick with making cakes the old fashioned way and choose the most whole ingredients possible.
Homemade is best, I do agree, but if you are pressed for time or just don't have confidence in your baking skills, you can also purchase a plain sheet cake (or pound cake, etc.) from your local bakery!
This would be a great way to enter the world of cake pops… thanks for sharing!
So simple and yummy!
Goodness these are super simple! I have done the "real" cake balls and they are alot of work so I love this alternative.

I LoVe a good (homemade) cake pop as much as the next girl, but not only are these a lot easier, they are also not as rich as the traditional cake ball/pop. Because you mix icing in with the cake to get that truffle like inside cake balls are very decadent. These are just cake covered in chocolate so they are a little less rich but just as tasty and addicting!
As for the previous post about Sara Lee cakes and the chocolate coating having "yucky" things in them…You could make your own pound cake and freeze it and you use chocolate coating on cake balls from scratch too so what's the difference??
great piece, you missed a few spellin mistakes near the end tho lol
