Recently, I have spent many hours searching through blogs. It started by just looking at my friends blogs about their babies, families, businesses, hobbies… I would start with one blog, and furiously click through their friends blogs and their friends blogs and before I knew it I had spent my entire lunch hour reading, learning, and loving blogs!
I was blown away with the plethora of crafty goodness on the web. I found Kids Crafts Weekly for kid crafts. Or Apartment Therapy… Or perhaps you want to know how to make cake pops, check out…Bakerella. My point is: I am loving blogs! So, here is my attempt at blogging. While the title does have the word free in it…All crafts will not be free to make. But will be inexpensive and for the most part made with reusable or recycled items, and of course each craft will be awesome!
Craft #1: Canvas Art
I had a used canvas that I had painted for my college apartment. I simply repainted the entire canvas brown. Most canvases, in my opinion, can be painted over many, many times. I literally, squirted a few squirts of orange and gold and started blending the colors together. I even let the BF help me blend the paint all over. This can be a family project. I used the same paintbrush. I was not going for perfection or precision. Let your inner artist come out and play! You have to blend while the paint is wet. If you mess up, just repaint your base color and try again! The green branches are wall decals from IKEA. I think the package cost about $10.00. Once your canvas is done, hang up the canvas and stick on the decals.
